Our Dining Room School House
When we first started homeschooling, I had BIG dreams of a dedicated school room—shelves lined with books, a globe in the corner, maps on the walls. Instead, we have a small dining room that does triple duty as a classroom, craft room, and family dinner space. And you know what? It works.
Our dining table is the heart of it all. It’s where math gets done in the morning, art projects take over in the afternoon, and dinner is served in the evening (usually with a quick sweep of crayons and papers just before we eat). We’ve learned to be intentional with every inch—rolling carts for supplies, a shelf in the corner for books, even a basket under the table for things we use every day.
What surprised me most is how cozy and connected this setup feels. We’re elbow to elbow, talking through lessons, sharing ideas, and just being together.
It’s not perfect.
It’s sometimes messy.
But it’s ours. ♥
The size of the space doesn’t matter nearly as much as the love and learning that fills it!
