The Retrained Mind 

Welcome to your one and only homeschool resource site! I am dedicated to providing biblical encouragement, homeschool resources, curriculum reviews, healthy family recipes, and insights into the life of a homeschool mom. My goal is to support and inspire stay-at-home mothers in their homeschooling journey.

As a homeschooling mom, I understand the challenges and joys of educating our children at home. I also offer parenting resources and tips for home organization to help you create a nurturing and organized environment for your family.

I am a wife to my high school sweetheart and mother to my three children, 2 girls, and 1 boy (our ‘arrows’). I never thought I would be a stay-at-home homeschooling mother of three. Now, I cannot imagine life any other way. I have a heart for encouraging women to embrace their role as wives and mothers, all while developing a community of Christian moms who desire to raise their children in the dedication and instruction of the Lord.    

The Retrained Mind came to be during a time of researching how we would go about withdrawing our oldest two children from public school, starting their education from home, all while planning to grow our family. I did a deep dive into the ‘classical education’ method while reading a book by Susan Wise Bauer called ‘The Well-Trained Mind’.  During my research and dealing with a lot of internal thoughts of ‘am I even good enough to educate my children myself?’, my mind was being “retrained” or should I say, “transformed” by God. He revealed to me the calling He had for me to come home and to educate my children. Through the gentle guidance of my husband, his encouragement in the Word, and unbeknownst to me, prayers my husband had been waiting for to be answered, God was answering them one by one in His own timing. Both of our hearts were being transformed by Christ, and while doing so, our minds were being ‘retrained’ regarding all things educational, political, theological, and family.
